But you shouldchoose the beer house very carefully in order to really feel the whole charm of Czech traditions, rich taste of Czech beer and dumplings. One of the most interesting beer houses in Prague "At St. Thomas’» (U Sv. Tomáše) is located in the old town of Prague. Even its appearance indicates that beer has been flowing here for more than a dozen years. It is located in an ancient medieval cellar with vaulted ceilings and old wooden barrels. A long time ago from 1358 to 1951 at "The St. Thomas'” beer house monks brewed dark beer, may be therefore the beer house has this interesting pious name. Sometime in the 15th century they were singing funny songs and drinking their favorite beer. At the beginning of the XX century pub "At St. Thomas" has become a meeting place for Czech elite, but now we know it as a tourist attraction. To this day the beer of that time, of course, survived, but now it is possible to enjoy unique varieties such as dark, Ferdinand and Brannik.  The "Brannik" has special taste. It is brewed according to centuries-old recipe. In the medieval the brewer was obliged to take care of his workplace and the quality of the beer, so that he doesn’t lose the right to produce intoxicating drink. Therefore modern brewery can only envy the quality and taste of the recipes of old times.
